**At Hollyburn Community Services Society **we provide a continuum of supports to youth, seniors, individuals and families with social vulnerabilities on the North Shore and we’re looking for people to join our team who want to do the same.

**As a Transition Housing Support Worker**, you will be assisting chronically and episodically homeless youth to provide life skills and support while they reside at the Life Success Transitional Housing program in North Vancouver. Clients served are from 18 to 24 years old.

**Qualifications**:

- BA, BSW or Community College Diploma in a related field with a minimum of two-year experience in social services particular to working with youth and homelessness.
- Knowledge of issues and resources specific to the community.
- Working knowledge of mental health, addictions and homelessness.
- Familiarity with housing issues, emergency housing options and Residential Tenancy Act.
- Clear, direct and sensitive verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a professional manner.
- Hold a valid B.C. Driver’s License and accessed to an insured vehicle.
- Valid First Aid and NVCI Certificate (or be willing to attend training we offer upon hire)
- Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

**A **_**sample**_ **of what you’ll be doing**:

- Work specifically with youth who reside at Life Success
- Perform intakes and assess service eligibility
- Meet with clients at office or a location convenient for the client to assess needs and create a case plan that prioritizes life skills development and long term housing.
- Attend relevant meetings, accompanying client to meetings and services throughout the North Shore including Bowen Island and Lions Bay
- Connect client with other services in the community
- Teach clients budgeting skills, how to navigate social services and self-advocacy skills to encourage self-reliance.

**Salary**: $4,000.00-$4,400.00 per month
