Interim Chief Financial Officer

Our client located in North York is seeking your expertise and hands-on financial reporting for a 6-month contract. The team is seeking an interim **Chief** **Financial Officer** with 10+ years' hands-on managerial and financial accounting experience to ensure proper controls are implemented and maintained with respect to all financial reporting and administrative procedures. You will act as the auditor and coordinator, providing the necessary controls and information for effective planning, organization, direction, and record keeping.

In support of the management team, you will possess a CPA designation and be accountable for:

- Provide meaningful management reporting relative to the status of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash, Inventory, and other pertinent business related areas
- Ensure in-house accounting system is capable of producing consistently accurate and current financially related results, and provide recommendations as deemed appropriate
- Ensure controls are in place to provide the necessary checks and balances to the financial records to prevent material discrepancies in the results reported
- Assist accounting team with backlog of year-end reporting
- Evaluate monthly financial performance and interface with the respective managers to assure corrective action is in process for resolving any major problem areas highlighted
- Assess financial control procedures and make recommendations for improvement as it pertains to job cost, budgeting, and variance reporting, managerial reporting and other such procedures to assure accurate control and presentation and a clear understanding of the results
- Audit costs and related controls to assure the most accurate information is provided to operating management for decision-making
- Assure constant surveillance over the collection activity of the Company to ensure a continuous, unimpeded cash flow stream
- Coordinate the financial, audit and tax reporting preparation with outside professional accountants
- Perform related duties necessary to ensure adequate financial control throughout the Company or as requested by the management team.

To be successful in this role, you have a thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.). You are astute in interacting with lending institutions and as an effective communicator, you foster strong relationships while interacting on all levels in various formats. With advanced accounting principles and their relationship to budgetary and financial calculations and analysis, you have established yourself as a successful leader.

You possess:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA designation
- High level of proficiency with MS Office products; Great Plains and Epicore BisTrack for POS system
- Thorough understanding of data analysis and forecasting
- Excellent critical thinking as well as organizational and analytical skills
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects; meet required timelines with accuracy
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
