**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Read and interpret blue prints, sketches, drawings, manuals specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces
- Operate conventional machining equipment such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, etc.
- Verify dimensions of machined tools or parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using instruments such as: micrometers, veneers, calipers, height gauges, depth micrometers, indicators, thread gauges, blank gauges and other specialized instruments
- Creation and repair of jigs and fixtures for both onsite equipment and production purposes
- Repair mechanical problems and problem solve
- Repair cylinders
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Travel required when performing on-site machining

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- High School diploma
- Journeyman inter-provincial Red Seal Machinist
- Must provide own set of tools for machinist trade
- One year experience in a construction workshop
- Experience in a welding workshop would be an asset
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Attention to detail is essential
- Must be conscientious of quality control for finished products, specifically with sheets of metal such as stainless steel, copper, brass, etc.
- Must have an team spirit to accomplish final goals and work cooperatively with others
- Must have good common sense
- Must be flexible to work on various tasks as required
