Stormtec is a specialty water management subcontractor that makes the lives of their customers easier by taking on their water management challenges. When we do it right, no one notices us doing our work—not our customers, not the communities we work in, not the fish in the local streams. Except that our customers realize they don’t have the ongoing headache of water management. We are a leader in environmentally conscious water management solutions for sediment control, contaminated water treatment, dewatering and bypass solutions in the construction industry with offices in BC and Alberta.

We've doubled in size over the last 3 years and expect to double again in the next 5. We have a young, progressive team of 60 staff in BC, led by an ambitious President & CEO who is leading the company through unprecedented but sustainable growth.

**The person who succeeds at this job will**:

- Within the first 30 days, start project managing two high-profile existing $500K/year water management projects.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, subcontractors and internal sales and field staff.
- Within 3 months, take on the project management for 5-10 additional water management projects.
- Acquire keen understanding each project’s scope and objectives and follow/develop detailed project plans using project management tools and methodologies.
- Working closely with field operations, ensure achievement for overall project performance including schedule, budget, quality and safety.
- Provide timely and effective project reporting including monthly project status reports, cost forecasting, cash flows, schedule updates, safety and quality updates and issues.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years track record of successfully project managing multiple projects (sized at $500,000/year) in construction, water management or related industry
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical diploma with AScT designation (Applied Science Technologist).
- PMP certification is desired but not necessary.
- Excellent communication skills (verbally and writing).
- Excellent PM-related software skills in Excel, Word, GANTT charts, cost estimating and scheduling.
- Strong interpersonal skills externally (subcontractors, consultants, customers, and Executive) and internally (Sales, Field Operations, Finance).
- Strong analytical, project-solving and judgment skills.

There is no doubt that the successful person will face some challenges, but you will be up for it because of your resourcefulness. Here are the big obstacles:

- Project management practices are still in its infancy here, you can help improve the discipline across the organization.
- Although we have plans to hire a PMO head, at this point, this is a stand-alone project management position within our Sales department so whatever you don’t know about project management, you’ll have to use your own resources to learn it.
