**Who We Are**:
**DELTA CEDAR SAWMILL & HALO SAWMILL**, both highly respected coastal sawmills located along the Fraser River, are actively seeking a highly motivated **Full-Time Purchasing Agent.**The mills are owned by the Delta Forestry Group, a privately held group of companies with a long history of consistent operations on the BC Coast. We place a large emphasis on quality, value, development, and stability for its customers and employees. We have a highly skilled long-term workforce that produces high-value products while achieving maximum product recovery and are always looking for new additions to our team.

**Job Summary**:
As Purchasing Agent, you will report and liaise with the Maintenance and Mill Managers at both mill locations, splitting your time between the mills, ensuring required parts are ordered and received in a timely manner. This role is key in maintaining the proper maintenance parts to keep the mills running efficiently.

**Key Responsibilities (**_**include, but not limited to**_**)**:

- Monitor Inventory levels and determine buying requirements to maintain optimal stock
- Purchase, receive and record the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from locations
- Create purchase orders and send to suppliers
- Review deliveries against the orders. Track the status of any orders
- Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods
- Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipments in error with suppliers
- Interact with the suppliers on a day-to-day basis to maintain relationships
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route parts
- Authorize payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation
- Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- This opportunity involves working Monday to Friday
- Work is to be divided between mill locations (Delta/Pitt Meadows)

**Qualifications**:

- Education: Millwrighting background education/experience is preferred
- Experience: Prior experience in sawmill environment is preferred

**Additional Requirements**:

- Valid Drivers License
- Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization capability
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and posses strong English (oral, reading and written)
- Physically able to perform duties assigned to this position
- Organizational skills as well as Time Management skill
- Parts Orientated, willing to learn
- Mechanical aptitude
- Employ a team-first, proactive and positive attitude
