**Summary of Duties**
Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Design and Construction, the Manager, Facilities Capital Projects is responsible for developing, organizing, and coordinating project plans for the delivery of Facilities Life Cycle Renewal work and Capital projects. This collaborative position liaises with City of London Service Areas and divisions to balance service area needs and corporate goals. The Manager, Facilities Capital Projects is an experienced project manager overseeing a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful outcome of all assigned projects.

**Work Performed**
- Provide leadership in the development, coordination and delivery of projects, programs, and facilities services that contribute to the implementation of strategic initiatives for the Fleet and Facilities Division.
- Supervise employees including assigning work, administration, and participation in hiring activities. Conduct performance aspects of reporting employees. Respond to sensitive and confidential human resource issues as required.
- Provide leadership in the execution and delivery of services and programs in the following areas of accountability:

- Develop and monitor schedules and monitor budgets to meet predetermined scope, goals, deliverables, and desired objectives for each project.
- Assist with the development, monitoring and recommendations for operations and capital budgets and initiate actions to operate within fiscal plans.
- Oversee the preparation of tenders/contract/quotations for related areas.
- Manage individual projects in liaison with employees, consultants and contractors during design and implementation phases of projects and programs.
- Ensure asset data and information is collected and updated in preparation for entry into appropriate databases and provided to Planning, Energy and Assets group.
- Collect and organize input from stakeholder clients regarding project needs and specifications.
- Evaluate Facilities Design and Construction processes and recommend changes to systems, procedures, and methodologies to maximize use of resources; and
- Undertake projects as assigned and maintain historical work task information/data in accordance with Divisional requirements.
- Encourage and support employee participation and commitment to divisional and organizational objectives. Actively mentor, provide development opportunities and build team performance with direct reports.
- Build and encourage employee commitment to a high level of performance in all areas of customer service, employee safety and delivery of individual goals and objectives.
- Fairly and consistently administer provisions of various collective agreements.
- Demonstrate commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and human rights through interactions with stakeholders, employees and individuals and implementation of policies, programs and protocols that reflect this commitment.
- Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; and actively promote a culture of safety with direct reports.
- Track performance measures for deliverables using appropriate data collection and analytics and reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, including those of confidential nature, to Service Areas, Divisions, Council, and various Committees.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Completion of an undergraduate degree or an advanced Community College Diploma in Architecture, Building Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Five years of progressively responsible experience managing people and projects in a related field or equivalent combination of education and related professional and lived community experience.
- Certification from Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) is an asset.
- Certification in Professional Project Management is an asset.
- Knowledge of theoretical and practical elements of project management that include project staging, project charter development, Gantt charting, Critical Path Monitoring (CPM), etc.
- Fundamental knowledge of regulatory codes and design standards, office space planning, facilities planning and design principles, furniture systems and familiarity with construction and project management methodology.
- Valid Driver's License-Class G and the ability to attend site visits.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the above identified areas of accountability with an understanding of the area’s programs and services and how the work of the area aligns with the objectives of the Division.
