**We're Hiring: English Tutor & Essay Coach (Part-Time / In-Person & Online)**
**Location**: Kerrisdale, Vancouver West
**Position Type**: Part-Time
**Start Date**: Immediate

**Position Overview**:
This role involves teaching K-12 English Language Arts and providing personalized coaching for academic and admissions writing. Instruction includes both **in-person small group classes** and **one-on-one online sessions**. Experience with the **BC English curriculum**, **SSAT/SAT English**, and **private school/university admissions essays** is essential.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Teach English Language Arts to students in Grades K-12, following the BC curriculum
- Provide coaching in reading comprehension, grammar, academic writing, and literary analysis
- Prepare students for standardized tests, including **SSAT and SAT**:

- Guide students through the **college and private school admissions essay process**, including brainstorming, drafting, and revision
- Deliver both in-person and online instruction
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
- Collaborate with the academic and advising teams to support students' long-term goals

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a **North American university** (English, Education, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred)
- Minimum **3 years of experience** in tutoring English or coaching academic/admissions writing
- Native-level proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Strong understanding of the **BC English curriculum**:

- Solid knowledge of **SSAT and SAT content and test strategies**:

- Experience with **university and/or private school admissions essays**:

- Excellent written communication, editing, and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about education
- Must be eligible to work in Canada (valid work permit or PR/citizenship required)
- Available to teach in person in **Kerrisdale (Vancouver West)** and online as needed

**Compensation**:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

Starting at CAD 30 per hour
