**Job Title**
Category Manager, Rabba Fine Foods
**Job Summary**:
Working with Rabba’s Beverage Alcohol Consultant, the Category Manager manages the selection, ordering, and inventory management of beverage alcohol products and analyzes sales trends to optimize stock levels and drive category performance. This role requires a strong understanding of market trends, sales data, and inventory management to ensure optimal product availability, reduce stock-outs, and support sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Inventory Management & Ordering**
- Place orders with LCBO, ensuring alignment with store needs, category goals, minimum delivery order quantities, and budget constraints.
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to manage delivery schedules, track shipments, and resolve any issues related to order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all orders, deliveries, returns, and discrepancies in inventory.
**2. Category & Inventory Optimization**
- Manage product assortment by assessing customer preferences, competitor activities, and emerging market trends.
- Implement category management strategies to enhance product selection, including SKU rationalization, product promotions, and in-store merchandising.
- Evaluate inventory turnover rates, minimize excess stock and reduce costs through inventory management best practices.
- Ensure proper stock rotation to minimize losses from expired or obsolete products.
- Sales Analysis & Reporting
- Collaborate with the finance and operations team to align stock levels with sales goals.
- Conduct regular category reviews, suggesting pricing adjustments, promotions, or product replacements based on data insights.
**3. Cross-Department Collaboration**
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional activities and seasonal campaigns.
- Partner with retail to understand customer preferences, gather feedback on product performance, and make data-driven recommendations.
4. **Other Duties, as assigned**
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in retail purchasing, inventory management, or category management, preferably within the beverage alcohol industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Excel.
- Knowledge of retail inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving market conditions.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Familiarity with beverage alcohol and industry regulations related to alcohol distribution and sales.
- Experience in demand forecasting, sales analytics, and inventory optimization.
- Knowledge of the latest market trends in beverage alcohol and customer preferences.
**Working Conditions**:
- Office environment with occasional travel to retail locations or supplier sites as needed.
- Flexibility in working hours during peak demand seasons (e.g., holidays or significant promotional events).
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
