The overall responsibility of this position is to provide direction and management to the vehicle logistics team. The Manager, Logistics has primary responsibility for efficiencies and accountability for Glovis Canada. The role is required to work closely with key contacts at Glovis Canada to ensure all KPIs are achieved, including but not limited to monthly/annual wholesale target achievement, dwell time management and cost control.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and monitor key metrics for Glovis to ensure they are operating to HAC standards and expectations
- Lead and oversee Logistics Analyst to create reporting by zone/dealers to monitor service levels
- Work closely with Glovis to monitor Port & VPC for performance on shipping and to propose and implement new procedures to improve efficiencies
- Leads and oversee Logistics Analyst to create and monitor daily/weekly/monthly shipment forecasts
- Review and analyze annual rate increases proposed by Glovis and manage the entire process
- Leads and oversee Logistics Analyst to create regular reporting for each cost category as it relates to supply chain/vehicle deliveries
- Work closely with zone distribution team in a supportive role for dealer requirements
- Oversee Logistics Analyst to ensure all logistics billing is approved and processed in a timely manner
- Work closely with Manager, Sales Planning for mid and long term planning as it relates to logistics needs
- Provide leadership and guidance to 1 direct report
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and have the ability to think strategically.
- Able to deal directly with all levels of management including C-Level executives.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, and knowledge how to coach and mentor employees.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong understanding of how the automotive industry works.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of an undergraduate degree. or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- 7+ years of relevant experience in same or similar function.
