**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- You possess a strong understanding and experience of modelling techniques, risk management
- and project management. You are naturally curious and have a passion for projects cost
- forecasting techniques and data analytics. You are a master at cleaning, analyzing and
- communicating data using advanced MS Excel functionalities and other emerging analytics tools.
- You can summarize complex analysis and voluminous data sets into to meaningful insights for
- verbal and visual communication to senior leaders and other stakeholders. You are detail oriented
- but can also speak about the big picture. You are proactive and willing to take on unplanned
- challenges while adapting to changing priorities. You possess an open mind with a desire to learn
- and grasp new and complex problems quickly, particularly where no precedent exists. You
- understand how to achieve success as a key contributor to a larger team.**Responsibilities**:
- Sustain the Portfolio Risk Adjustment model (Monte Carlo simulation of capital projects future

cashflow based on historical projects performance information in terms of cost and schedule
- variance).- Use the model, validate output, and summarize insights and outputs to support the annual

Capital Plan development.- Recommend and implement continuous improvement to the model based on calibration results

and stakeholders’ feedback- Develop and maintain the documentation the Risk Adjustment model development from data

gathering, analysis, calibration methodologies and simulation results- Support the Practice Lead for the Project Risk Management practice as part of BC Hydro’s

Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) Practices, including developing/refining procedures,
- designing new templates, and engaging key business units to advocate and advance risk
- management- Support senior team members/Team Leads as required including process enhancements,

developing ad hoc reports, collaborating with stakeholders
- When needed, extract project performance data from multiple source systems including SAP- Business Warehouse, SharePoint and offline files, and perform data cleaning, transformation and
analysis using MS Excel and relevant tools to translate these into usable, visualized and
actionable information

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Project Management, Engineering,

Computer Science, Science, Mathematics, Finance or Economics. Relevant and applicable work
- experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in designing, building, testing, and maintaining

complex forecasting models- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project/risk management and/or data analysis
- Relevant and in-depth work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum of years of

experience.- Demonstrated ability to convert real world business forecasting questions into a mathematics

model, as well as design and implement relevant algorithm- Sensitivity to details, accuracy in everyday work
- Basic knowledge of statistical methods
- Strong writing, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to summarize data and

derive insights for stakeholders- Strong coordination and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with various stakeholders

among cross-functional teams
- The following skills/capabilities would be considered assets, but not mandatory:
- Master degree in relevant field as mentioned above
- Well-developed project management skills and knowledge; PMP certification
- Experience using advanced analytics tools like Tableau, SAS or Power BI
- Strong understanding of statistics
- A Professional designation in Engineering, Business, or related
- Experience accessing SAP Business Warehouse (SAP-BW) using Analysis for Office or Web
