VRS Communities Society (VRS) is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time **Payroll and Benefits Administrator**. VRS is a not-for-profit housing and care organization for disabled and senior living individuals. Location is in Vancouver, South Granville area. Potential for hybrid option within 3 to 6 months.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Services & Data Mgmt., this position will be responsible to prepare and ensure the preparation of, and verifies the accuracy of payroll reports and records, such as payroll registers, payroll analyses, trust benefits balance account, MPP, T4 forms, T4 Summary’s, and Annual Payroll Reporting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Processes unionized payroll, including performing manual earnings and deduction calculations and transmitting payroll information to financial institutions.
- Ensures completion of payroll duties such as reviewing staff timesheets, reconciling payroll deductions, balancing billing hours to payroll hours paid and reconciling bank statements.
- Verifies the accuracy of payroll reports.
- Investigates and resolves discrepancies and follows up on problems.
- Ensures completion of year-end reporting including completing working papers, annual T-4 slips, and related summaries.
- Collects information required for budgets and audits.
- Calculates and distributes Receiver General remittances.
- Completes and maintains records and compiles information including preparing records of employment and WCB employer claim forms.
- Administration of the Health and Welfare Benefits Trust and Municipal Pension Plan.
- Performs analyses and summaries such as calculating retroactive payments and entitlements.
- Works with scheduling team to maintain timekeeping and attendance records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of Grade 12 completion
- Completion of the Payroll Practitioner certification from the Canadian Payroll Association as asset
- Experience in a Unionized environment considered an asset
- Recent, related experience of two years or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience or other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work

**Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to do mathematical and financial calculations.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures related to accounting and payroll

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $53,000.00-$56,000.00 per year
