We are building a care team for our 83 year old father with dementia. Full-time, part-time, and casual positions are available. Majority of shifts are 8 hour overnight shifts from 10pm-6am, weekdays and weekends. Extra hours and overtime work are available. Live-in or Live-out options are available. Perks may include annual bonus, transportation reimbursement, reimbursement for first aid and training courses.

Client is mobile, easy going, and resides in family home with his immediate family. Home is located in the beautiful Blueridge neighbourhood of North Vancouver with access to transit, hiking trails, and local mountains.

**Duties**

Night Shift: Provide overnight care to senior who wakes and rises frequently. Provide companionship in late evenings and assist client with dressing, bathing, toileting nightly. While client sleeps, preform light house keeping for client and family: laundry, clean bathrooms, dishes, sweeping, dusting, occasional meal prep.

Day Shift: Additional hours are available during the day to provide companionship and supervision. Duties are same as night shift, but may also include additional housekeeping, and activities such as walking, gardening, and running errands.

**The Client and Family**

Client lives with immediate family (including a toddler and large friendly dog), in his family home.

Client is mobile, but needs assistance with dressing, bathing, toileting, and meal preparation.

Client enjoys walking in the neighbourhood, gardening, watching hockey, listening to music, and story telling.

Client uses hearing aides and can communicate verbally.

**Experience Required**

Experience working in care residences and/or private homes.

Experience managing all aspects of personal care.

Nursing qualifications or Health Care Aid qualifications or equivalent.

Ability to patiently assist, communicate and engage with client.

Good verbal communication skills in English.

Level 1 First Aid, CPR / AED Certificate.

Fully vaccinated.

**Schedule**:
Night shift required 7 days/week, 10:00pm-6:00am

Full-time: 5 days/week, 40 hrs/week, 10:00pm-6:00am, overtime daytime and weekend hours available.

Part-time: 2 day/week, 16 hrs/week, 10:00pm-6:00am, extra daytime hours available.

**Salary**: $16.75-$28.00 per hour
