New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities.
New Directions Adult Day Services requires Direct Support Worker 2 & 3 to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in the community and facilities from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Duties include providing individualized day service supports and working as part of a team to enhance a variety of skills based on individual needs as well as managing situations with individuals who may exhibit potentially aggressive behaviours.
Applicants must have:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, dual diagnosis, and/or complex support needs would be considered an asset
- Current Driver’s Abstract and valid Driver’s License
- Valid First Aid Certificate, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, American Sign Language and a related human service certificate would be considered assets.
The salary range for a full-time Direct Support Worker 2 position is $31,428 to $40,40,996 per annum, based on a 40 hour work week, depending on education and experience. The salary range for Direct Support Worker 3 position is $33,051 to $46,280 per annum, based on a 40 hour work week, depending on education, experience, and completing workshops and training offered by the program.
