Lead, Database Administrator

Job Requirements:

- Identify, develop, implement, and maintain/administer the myQ ecosystem databases. Accountable for the operational health of the Microsoft SQL and Couchbase NOSQL database platforms supporting myQ today and any new database technologies in our future.
- Implement policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, and best practices with current and future database platforms which may be run in a PaaS, SaaS, IaaS solutions model.
- Manage vendor and supplier interactions for database services/software and the Director in decision making on architecture and capacity solutions for the relational and NOSQL database technologies.
- Perform ongoing analysis of database performance, security exposure, effectiveness and scale for all Connected Solutions/myQ database functions. Be available for on-call support for incident response and break/fix situations.
- Foster effective communications and coordination with the Corporate Information Security team as well as the Internal Risk, Control and Governance lead
- Collaborate with the technical directors, engineers, SRE and other team leads to develop and execute both tactical, logical and physical models along with strategic architecture plans and implementations of the databases
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on all database business processes. Write new wiki pages; edit existing content and deprecate older and out-of-date material in timely manner
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams
- Protect CGI’s reputation by keeping information confidential
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology field.
- An additional 4 years of job related experience can substitute for the bachelor's degree
- An advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of job related experience
- 5+ years of experience in Database Administration roles.
- 1+ years of experience working with database technologies in a public cloud environment
- Able to travel up to 5% of the time domestically or internationally

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Microsoft Azure Portal experience
- Experience with SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016 versions, Windows 2008 R2 / Windows 2012
- Deep understanding of database design principals, Database Logical and Physical design
- Backup and recovery, high availability/Cluster, AlwaysOn and DR
- Strong in T-SQL, including the ability to write complex queries, Code Reviews, Deployments and PowerShell Scripts.
- Performance monitoring and Query Optimization using Perfmon, SQL Profiler
- Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of management and across all business units
- Demonstrate leadership ability to drive strategy, prioritize and mobilize resources across the Company
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and providing effective support to all functions and individuals within the corporate structure
- Excellent capability of working independently and in a team environment
- Full knowledge of emergency response planning & execution, crisis management, disaster recovery operations and business continuity
- Experience in root cause analysis process and documentation (RCA, 5 Whys, 8D, FMEA, etc.).

Preferred Job Requirements:

- Masters’ Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
- 7+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
- Experience as a Couchbase Administrator or experience on any NoSQL platform
- Knowledge of IoT technology, platforms and operations a plus.
- Experience with high volume/throughput systems
- Experience in working in Agile/Kanban/Lean organization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of Information Security principles and processes.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001/2 standards and controls.
- Couchbase NOSQL multi-cluster deployments and operations
