**Schedule Details**:

- _Sunday - Saturday_
- _7:30am till 9:15pm_

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Supervise the work of all grocery clerks and ensure schedules are completed and posted for employees in a timely manner
- Determine and maintain sufficient levels of inventory of on the shelves and to meet customer demands
- Ensure the sales floor presents a clean and neat appearance, and offers a safe, pleasant and attractive place to shop
- Visit competing stores at least once per month for price and product comparison
- Engaging with customers, answering questions, educating, and promoting product and services that we offer, enhancing loyalty, sale and profit
- Resolve customer complaints regarding grocery department
- Implementing the department’s operational plans and mentor staff by showing and doing
- Communicating and collaborating between other departments and with other stores
- Increasing staff effectiveness through mentoring and coaching
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by all employees within the department
- Responding and resolving employee issues; escalating to the Department or Store Manager as needed
- In conjunction with the Department Manager and Human Resources, recruitment and selections of new grocery clerks
- Implementing Department plans and budgets with Department Manager
- Hold monthly staff meetings to keep employees informed of store operations and the effects on the grocery department
- Provide employee with regular feedback on their performance
- Providing a safe work environment
- Representing the Italian Centre Shop both in and out of the store
- Long periods of standing and walking
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Manual and repetitive tasks
- Individuals will be required to lift, move and push up to 50lbs.

**What We're Looking For**:
**Education**:

- High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred. Some University or College considered an asset.
- Valid Forlift Certificate is preferred

**Experience**:

- 2+ years in a grocery environment with supervisory or team lead experience
- 1-2 years managing a budget and finance
- 1-2 years in creating and implementing operational plans
- Knowledge of ordering processes for retail & wholesale

Skills and Abilities:

- Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize
- Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
- Ability to build professional relationships with our vendors/suppliers
- Ability to provide first-rate customer service in person and on phone
- Ability to build a cohesive team within a store

**Working conditions**: Job requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Job also requires employee to work with challenging customers and/or situations. Employees will be exposed to cold temperatures when accessing our frozen goods section, and refrigerated areas. Job also requires employee to work with challenging customers and/or situations at times.
