**Your new responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with all railroad and port authority rules and regulations for the safe and efficient movement of railcars on the property
- Providing and receiving instructions concerning the movement and placement of railcars
- Switching duties within a yard as well as movements through port property
- Observing and relaying signals/switches to railcar mover operator to ensure safe train movements on the property
- Operating railroad switches and other railroad devices on rail cars and railcar mover
- Inspecting track and equipment conditions while operating
- Make effective decisions in emergency situations
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors while operating to prevent accidents and injury
- ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED_
- A high school diploma
- Previous rail experience is preferred
- A safety-first approach
- Be in good physical condition, have ability to lift, push and carry up to 90 pounds
- Reliable mode of transportation to and from the facility
- Be dependable and accountable for all scheduled shifts
- Ability to fill out forms and conduct other reporting duties
- Be able to work with railcars and heavy equipment and follow the rules and regulations of our partner CN as well as our own company rules and regulations
- Be able to perform work in all weather conditions
- Previous experience in the railroad or transloading industries would be considered as an asset._

**Extra Information**:

- Hours of operation will be Mon-Fri with weekend work as required
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Full time schedule on site, remote work not possible for this position
