Scarborough, Canada Centre for Immigrant and Community Services Full time

Plan, organize, facilitate, and implement one on one and group activities, and leverage social media platforms to distribute information for Toronto residents in private rental housing with respect to rights and responsibilities in their landlord and tenant relationship.
- Complete assessments with a tenant, tenant group and/or tenant association to identify their needs and to provide responsive and appropriate services, or to make appropriate referrals that will support tenants with their case;
- Develop and maintain information for tenants on supports and services, tenant rights and responsibilities, updates on policies and legislation and upcoming tenant events. Topic areas include, but are not limited to Residential Tenancies Act, Evictions, Landlord and Tenant Board Information and processing, Repair and Maintenance, Tenancy Agreement and Discrimination related to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Conduct internal training to CICS settlement workers to enable provision of multi-lingual information and assistance to non-English speaking tenants.
- Keep and maintain clients records in a timely and professional manner;
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical and progress reports as required;
- Collaborate with internal teams/units in planning, organizing or implementing activities to attain agency goals;
- Establish, build, and maintain internal and external relationships for purposes of referring clients to aid their immediate needs on housing support;
- Attend meetings as required, for partnership, collaboration, information sharing and networking;
- Actively participate in cross-functional programs from need assessment, design, development, to delivery of programs;
- Positively represent CICS and promote program and services in the community.

**Qualifications**:

- Canadian university degree or equivalent in Social Sciences or a related discipline;
- Certification or training on Community Services, Counselling or other related disciplines an asset;
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience, preferably in a front-line service role and non-profit setting;
- Excellent knowledge of cultural and social backgrounds of immigrants and refugees; including their settlement and integration issues both general and specific;
- Experience in the delivery of tenant supports and tenant issues related to evictions and affordability a strong asset;
- Knowledge of community resources and services; working experience with immigrants an asset;
- A good understanding of services systems, tenant supports and navigating the Landlord and Tenant Board processes;
- Proven abilities in program organization, service referral, community outreach; working with diverse cultures and all age groups;
- Experienced in resource coordination and case management techniques;
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written proficiency in English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to operate effectively within the organization and externally. This includes but is not limited to procedural instructions, team work, communication etc.
- Ability to use online platforms, such as Zoom and MS Teams and social media to deliver workshops, events and services;
- Flexible, willing to travel in GTA, and work in evenings and weekends.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
