Head Butcher

VG Meats is looking for a Retail Butcher in Stoney Creek, ON

**Responsibilities**:
Assist customers with their orders and provide excellent customer service
Cut, trim, and package meat to specification, ensuring high yields and mínimal waste
Develop and maintain product specifications for all cuts of meat
Train and supervise staff to ensure consistent quality and performance
Create cost-effective schedules and manage the day-to-day operations of the butcher shop
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
Maintain relationships with local farmers and suppliers to ensure a steady supply of high-quality meat
Work with management to develop and implement new products and services
Adhere to all health and safety regulations

**Requirements**:
Previous experience in a head butcher or similar position
Extensive knowledge of meat, including cutting, trimming, and packaging
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Red Seal in cooking or previous butchery position is a plus
**Salary**:
The salary offered is $ 20 to $24 / hr for 42.5 hrs a week.
