**Position Detail**:
We currently have an opening for an experienced **Bilingual (English/French) Community & Stakeholder Relations Advisor** for this **remote** role based in **Québec**.
The Community & Stakeholder Relations Advisor reports to the VP, Development for Canada and is responsible for supporting projects and building long-term relationships with local First Nations and other communities. As part of the Renewable Energy Project Development Team, will promote the social acceptability of energy projects and intervene strategically by establishing community partnership strategies, designing and presenting communication and community partnership plans, and implementing them in the field.
Salary range: $80,000-100,000 annually
**Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To**:
- Represent the Company and its projects to local host communities, landowners, and municipal government, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis groups;
- Assist with design of communication plans related to the concerns of local communities and First Nations, Inuit and Métis groups;
- Coordinate with government entities to obtain permits and oversee authorization processes as well as review and handle environmental impact studies;
- Coordinate, prepare for and attend public meetings;
- Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors and consultants on projects and development;
- Prepare internal and external communications regarding project development and environmental impacts and studies;
- Support the Company’s brand image and reputation via social media, events and communications in relation to our renewable energy projects;
- Participate in budget development;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Complies with all FirstLight policies and procedures.
**Job Qualifications / Skills**
- Diploma in communications, legal or political studies or a related field;
- Bi-lingual: proficiency in French/English required;
- 5+ years’ relevant experience in renewable energy project development, project management, strategic development, legal administration with First Nations or public communication;
- Strong knowledge of provincial regulations related to renewable energy;
- Proven experience with community engagement and communications, particularly with Indigenous communities;
- Familiarity with the unique considerations, protocols, and rights of Indigenous communities in relation to renewable energy projects, including land use and environmental stewardship
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc);
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Natural leader who easily takes initiative and enjoys managing tasks and projects to meet or exceed deadlines;
- Strong sense of integrity and ability to work independently;
