**Our Position**
At AstraZeneca, our Insights Managers are driven by their curiosity and their ability to shape strategy. We have fostered a culture of trust and engagement. As the Insights Manager
- Oncology, you provide a candid voice of the customer as it pertains to brands, competitors, changing landscape and customers (patients, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other HCP’s) needs and wants. Your outputs are critical for downstream commercial planning and help manage risk for the brand and the organization. You are the expert in brand competitive intelligence. You surprise and delight your internal customers by either figuring out answers to questions before they surface or finding new ways for insight generation.
This role will report to the Senior Manager, Insights and Analytics and will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead the insights generation process to uncover critical insights to better understand and impact the patient journey.
- As a critical contributor of the brand teams, and core member of the Therapeutic Area Leadership Team (TALT), provide significant leadership in development of strategic and tactical plans.
- Extract and generate insights through primary and secondary research leading to: First class strategic planning, brand planning, life cycle management (pre-NOC to LOE)
- Develop and manage a strategic research plan to solve for current and future insight gaps.
- Ensure a collaborative process between research partners and business partners.
- Develop and report on, business drivers and metrics, assess/highlight risks and opportunities, perform monthly brand reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to provide ongoing consultation and direction on complex issues.
- Establish strong global and regional partnerships to ensure Canadian influence in development of global insights work.
**Key tasks**:
- Proactively identify key business questions and opportunities, working with suppliers to design impactful projects and deliver excellence in market research
- Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget; strategically managing the budget assigned to each brand’s research plan.
- Conduct periodic situation analyses in preparation for strategic brand planning.
- Publish monthly brand reports to track performance metrics
- Conduct ad hoc analyses of primary and secondary data; draw vital information from internal data warehouse.
- Work collaboratively with the brand team to move forward the commercial agenda; use cross-functional experience and savviness
**Required Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree in business and/or science. Post graduate degree preferable.
- Good understanding and prior experience with primary market research methodologies (qualitative & quantitative) is an asset
- Previous experience in designing and conducting primary market research projects within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector is a significant asset
- Naturally curious and self-starter; drive and agility to acquire complex therapeutic area knowledge and understanding of constantly evolving Oncology landscape.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to translate/ distill findings from various research sources into actionable business insights.
- Strong ability to communicate complex concepts, lead presentations, and strategic cross functional team discussions.
- Energized by working with ambiguity and complexity
- Excellent project management, organizational and leadership skills
- High Proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel and PowerPoint)
