Every night, hundreds of Muslim women and children in Canada face homelessness, poverty, and trauma. Sakeenah seeks to provide a safe space for growth and empowerment for all of them. Sakeenah’s mission is to establish the largest network of sheltering projects which provide a safe and nurturing environment for Muslim women and children across the globe as well as provide end-to-end services for all who seek support.
**About the Role**
As the Creative Lead at Sakeenah Canada, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the organization's visual identity and communication strategies. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual who can bring fresh perspectives to our campaigns, events, and overall branding efforts. The Creative Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our messages resonate with diverse audiences and effectively convey the mission and impact of Sakeenah Canada.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Brand Development:
- Develop and maintain the organization's visual identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and enhance Sakeenah Canada's brand messaging.
2. Creative Strategy:
- Lead brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for campaigns, events, and awareness initiatives.
- Develop and execute innovative communication strategies that align with organizational goals.
3. Graphic Design:
- Create visually compelling and effective designs for print and digital materials, including brochures, posters, social media graphics, and website content.
- Work with external vendors and freelancers as needed.
4. Content Creation:
- Generate engaging and impactful content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, and press releases.
- Write and edit copy for marketing materials, ensuring a consistent and compelling voice.
5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing, communications, and program teams to align creative efforts with broader organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with external partners, influencers, and media to amplify Sakeenah Canada's reach.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Track and analyze the performance of creative campaigns, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all creative assets comply with relevant guidelines and regulations.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual arts, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a creative role, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Proficient in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of domestic violence issues is an asset.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
