**POSITION**: Full Time

**LOCATION**: The Village Kitchen (Scarborough, Ontario)

**TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR**: Manager, Food Production Department

**Scope**

The Baker/Kitchen Production Assistant works in our new production facility located at 111 Finchdene Square in Scarborough, Ontario and is responsible for assisting in the production of high-quality, made-from-scratch food products in a precise and efficient manner.

**Role Requirements**
- Flexible and available to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends when required (extended hours, holidays, and midnight shifts on rare occasions)
- Must be able to endure medium/high levels of physical exertion (standing, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, freezer work, etc.)
- Equipment operation (weigh scales, mixers, kettles, cookers, ovens, knives, stove)
- Successful communication with supervisors, co-workers, and customers (in-person & telephone orders)
- Observes company code of conduct, policies, and store rules
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed

**Key Responsibilities**
- Accurately produce all food products according to our standard recipes
- End of day cleaning responsibilities

**Working Conditions**
- Inside, freezer work on occasion

**Success Factors**
- Communication Skills: Key skills required include: Written and verbal understanding of recipes and production tasks. Listening skills. Ability to work with others in collaborative efforts
- Stamina: often stand for long periods of time, ability to operate ovens for extended periods of time, and are required to lift medium to heavy objects
- Job Commitment: Punctual and able to work variable shifts as assigned by the department manager
- Role Engagement: Ability to work with a positive attitude and a high level of energy
- Responsibility Success: Effectively manage and complete all aspects of key responsibilities
- Collaborative Approach: Works well with others and enjoys being part of a team
- Artistic flair is an asset
