**The Role**:
The Pumps & Controls Specialist (Bilingual) will provide technical support to customers for all Xylem equipment such as pumps, motors, heat exchangers, control panels and should have experience with VFD programming (Danfoss, ABB, etc.) and industrial communications (MODBUS, Bacnet). Must be able to determine if equipment should be installed and run or removed and repaired. Job duties for this position are performed in an office environment and communication in English and French is required with our customers.

**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities**:

- Provide remote technical support for start-up activities of new installations of pumping systems (including drives and auxiliary equipment). On site when required.
- Site training of employees and service centers on Xylem equipment. Analyze failures and make or recommend corrections.
- Works closely with the Service Manager to schedule start-ups, troubleshooting and field service projects when necessary.
- Office work to be performed related to warranty claims, parts, customer technical support, new procedures etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification**:

- Degree or diploma in an Engineering program (Electro-Mechanical Engineering/Technology preferred) OR the equivalent level of experience and specialized training.
- Requires a broad knowledge of pump hydraulics, assembly, materials, machine shop practices and engineering. Must be able to troubleshoot systems and auxiliary equipment as well as the pumps.
- Must have experience on drives and programming. Must have experience in industrial controls, automation and industry standard communications protocols (MODBUS, Bacnet).
- Must be able to work safely in a construction environment with high voltage equipment.
- Preferred minimum 5 years’ experience in a service technician position.
- Strong communication skills.
- Bilingual English/French is required.

**Physical Demands**:

- Light lifting of 20-25 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility or customer job site.

**Work Environment**:

- General office environment and use of phone and computer equipment.
- Intermittent exposure to job site conditions, e.g., construction sites, industrial/power plants, wastewater treatment plants, etc.
- Travel as required to fulfill the duties listed above or as required by the Company.
- Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours.
