Supply Chain Analyst

New Construction is responsible for supporting Supply Chain Controls for new vessels constructed by Seaspan Shipyards under the Federal Fleet Renewal (FFR) Program. In supporting Supply Chain Controls, they will monitor and improve SCM operational performance, KPIs, expenditure and budgets, help document processes, and support in change initiatives.
The Supply Chain Analyst - New Construction needs to combine an ability to analyze significant amounts of data to develop reports, derive insights and problem-solve with an ability to coordinate with their colleagues across Seaspan Shipyards to drive improvement.
This position reports to the Manager, Supply Chain Controls, and will work very closely with members of Supply Chain Controls, Procurement, and Subcontracts in the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. The Supply Chain Analyst - New Construction is an integral member of the wider Seaspan Shipyard’s organization which is comprised of multi-functional representatives from the Program Office, Finance, SCM, Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance.
**Duties/Accountabilities**
- Works with the Supply Chain Management - New Construction team to support reliable SCM KPI reports, helps develop reports, and drives the improvement of KPI metrics
- Documents process maps, process and procedure manual(s), and user learning guides
- Act as a domain specialist for Seaspan’s procurement-related processes and systems including Supplier Management, Purchase Requisitioning, Purchase Order creation, through to Payment Processing
- Assists in monitoring supply chain and subcontractor performance, such that supplier & subcontractor milestones and result items are achieved in accordance with the Design and Build Contracts and as per schedule
**Education and Experience**
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or experience equivalent to this level of education
- A minimum of 3 or more years’ experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management and/or project management, business analysis and process improvement
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Membership in PMI, ISM, PMAC or APICS preferred; enrolment and/or completion of PMP, CPM, CPP, CPIM, CSCP, PLOG is desirable
**Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies**
- Proficient in business analytics tools, such as Power BI
- Proficient in MS-Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Visio) as well as SharePoint
- Knowledge of best practices in supply chain management and materials/procurement management
- Knowledge of analytical techniques and financial concepts to define and solve complex business problems
- Outstanding ability to collect, analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data
- Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills Broad knowledge of engineering, finance, project management and business operations
