Clearway has been operating since 1973 specializing in heavy civil construction, including, sewer and watermain, utilities, shoring, road reconstruction, concrete forming, marine, brownfield rehabilitation and treatment plant/pumping station work. Our Clearway Utilities division is expanding into the Kitchener-Waterloo region and is looking for an experienced Foreman to join our growing team.
**Summary**:
Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent, the Foreman will be responsible for organizing,directing, completing and reporting crew activity daily.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Experience in underground utility work
- Review scope of work with superintendent and execute key functions, while also performing hands on
- Assist the superintendent with organizing and coordinating the daily activities of all crew members, sub-contractors and
- Ability to effectively lead, mentor and motivate crew while demonstrating team values and work
- Schedule equipment and manpower needs with superintendent
- Ensure all applicable environmental regulations are adhered to throughout the construction
- Attend project closeout meeting to ensure successful completion of
- Document all pertinent project information, including site conditions, employee issues, and changes in scope of
- ensure locate sheets are with crew
- Review and submit electronic timesheets on a daily
- Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers and others on the work
- Report unsafe work, unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries and near misses to supervisor and participate in the investigative
- Attend and participate in toolbox and safety committee meetings as
- Comply with established company policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Foreman
- Underground sewer, watermain, or utility experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, schedules
- Thorough understanding of construction procedures and safety
- A strong technical computer capability using mobile devices is
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and
- Extensive knowledge of proper equipment utilization, operation and maintenance.
- Understanding of contracts, asset utilization and costing an asset
- Active Construction Safety Training
- Ground Disturbance
- Confined Space
- Valid First Aid
- Flagger Training
- Active WHMIS Certification
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with mínimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
- Strong problem solving and decision-making capabilities
- Must be able to work as a member of a larger team
