**Position Summary**:
Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Safety & Security Quality Assurance, this position is responsible for championing and leading a proactive safety culture through the Toronto Pearson Safety Program (TPSP) and supporting & collaborating with the integrated Occupational Health & Safety and Aviation Safety Management Systems through the People and Planes safety model to drive safety culture change. The incumbent will be accountable for establishing a framework for all business units to monitor, trend and set objectives and goals in their area for continuous improvement. In addition, the Manager, Toronto Pearson Safety, will develop and lead safety programs, campaigns, and initiatives for the entire Toronto Pearson community with the vision of zero injuries and injury prevention.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Build and maintain the Toronto Pearson Safety (TPS) Manual which defines common safety processes for the GTAA including the Safety Policy and Non-Punitive Reporting Policy for Aviation Safety (SMS), and Occupational Health & Safety, and Technical and Construction Safety.
- Lead, monitor, and continuously improve the integrated People and Planes Safety Management System.
- Ensure investigations and the analysis of concerns reported are investigated consistently through a defined process.
- Ensure functional departments are meeting the required safety measures and provide support, including the provision of training to enable businesses to effectively carry out key safety functions and meet applicable regulatory requirements (safety awareness, incident review, hazard, and risk assessment) through the People and Planes Safety model.
- Lead safety culture change at Toronto Pearson by acting as a safety champion, influencer, and cheerleader for the airport community
- Promote safety practices and safety culture among those who work at Toronto Pearson through a comprehensive safety communication and promotion strategy and program which includes print and digital media, campaigns, corporate and employer events and an airport-wide safety awards program
- Develop, participate, and maintain working relationships through a visible on-site presence with Toronto Pearson employers, through safety summits, meetings with Health and Safety Committees, internal and external safety committees, safety talks, Terminal patrols and inspections which will as drive safety culture change
- Research and identify industry standard methodologies and benchmarking
- Manage all required elements within the People and Planes safety model
- Lead the annual management review process
- Manage the Toronto Pearson Safety Workers Forum
- Manage the Toronto Pearson Leadership Safety Forum
- Handle and supervise adherence to TPS processes - Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Track and report on corporate safety objectives, goals and key safety metrics including the internal Toronto Pearson Safety Dashboard
- Identify areas for safety improvement and work with internal and external partners to decrease injuries
- Lead the safety concern reporting and review processes, providing the necessary tools to ensure follow up, effectiveness, and lessons learned.

**Qualifications**:
