Assistant Manager, Quality Services, Logistics Operations (Contract)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality Services, you will supervise and coordinate the Quality Services department’s operations in the Durham Retail Service Centre (DRSC) including supervising Quality Services staff. You will work with internal and external clients including Logistics, Inventory and Category Management, vendors/suppliers, agents and other Quality Assurance contacts to identify and resolve product quality and packaging issues to support product flow and prevent non-compliant product from shipping

About the Role- Coordinate and execute QA functions at the warehouse to ensure compliance with the LCBO Product packaging standards and CALJ product identification standards, and Regulations- Support the RSC to maintain continuous product flow across all distribution channels serviced by assessing problem loads, recommending actions, coordinating, prioritizing and completing corrective work with mínimal interruption to the Supply Chain.- Lead the effective management of product quarantine and control of distribution for product under investigation, not released for sale and during Recall events.- Deliver results by providing instruction, training, and coaching to staff on shift; schedule and issue work assignments, monitor for performance and approve payroll to meet budget- Collect and assess information and maintain accurate and current records using various software platforms; LIMs, SCME, QS Applications, PMA, Access, KPI, Date code database, RSC systems etc.- Plan, prioritize and assign work activities to facilitate all QS functions within the RSC’s; supervise for accuracy corrective work progress- Compile statistical reports for cost recovery (e.g. vendor charge backs) and for performance measuring purposes such as key performance indicators and service level turnaround targets- Effectively lead the flow of QA inventory of held product to minimize disruption to warehouse operations and maximize the supply chain- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify, isolate and report defective and non-compliant product; initiate product holds, confirm and report inventory counts, monitor incoming shipments, collect and forward samples to QS Head Office.- Work closely with our London and Toronto QA team to foster alignment, provide support and continued optimization of the QA operations in the logistics facilities. Travel to support our Toronto QA team will be required.- Collaborate with QA internal partners for guidance as the need arises and report any concerns to QS Management- Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers and agents as needed

About You- Post-secondary in Supply Chain, QA, Food Safety, or related science; experience with ISO 9001 or a relevant Quality Management System- 3+ years of Quality Leadership and related experience in logistic, manufacturing or related field- Solid understanding of administrative policies and procedures pertaining to product distribution and validation testing.- Experience with applicable federal and provincial acts and regulations and can associate to the supply chain processes for beverage alcohol.- Ability to lead a team independently with mínimal direction, ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task effectively in a multifaceted, fast paced environment- Proven skill at assessing risk and making decisions using strong analytical and problem-solving capability. Understands the bigger picture and related impacts across client and corporate objectives.- Fast and accurate data management skills, experience with business systems, including LIMS, SCMe, Elite, ROC, PMA QA and QA date code monitoring system- Exceptional interpersonal, team building and negotiation skills with an emphasis on leadership and service orientation; proven track record to lead laterally, train and mentor clients both internal and external to achieve success.- Demonstrated competence using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)
