**Schedule**: You are available for AM and PM shifts, weekends and holidays. 5:30am-1:30pm; 6am-2pm, 10:00am-6:00pm; 10:30am-6:30pm; 11:00am-7:00pm

**Job Summary**:

You will be:

- A **team player**, communicating directly with residents and families to learn about their preferences, feedback, and what brings them joy at mealtimes.
- Delivering meals occasionally, and always delivering **kindness and care**.
- Responsible for **cleaning your own station**, doing dishes, and following strict sanitizing and infection control practices.
- Helping to **individualize experiences**, choosing what’s right over what’s easy, and doing the little things that make a big difference.
- Taking **pride in the home** — its people, its operations, and all the things that keep it running well.
- Using and maintaining kitchen equipment with **care and efficiency**.
- Working with the **dietary team** to create meals, snacks, and special experiences for residents, their families, staff, and the community.

You will also be a:

- **Teacher, Communicator, and Team Leader** - sharing what the dietary team has to offer, teaching others how to turn food into a meaningful experience, and gathering ideas and feedback to guide future offerings.
- Curious and compassionate - getting to know our **diverse population** and tailoring meals to individual needs and preferences. One size doesn’t fit all.

Your work will include:

- **Meal service**: plating, dessert carts, condiments, clean-up — with a focus on fresh vegetables, variety, and the ability to cook to order under pressure, not just serve from a steam table.
- **Homemade everything**: stocks, gravies, pastries, appies, snacks — as close to scratch and the original ingredient as possible. We avoid pre-packaged and pre-prepped whenever we can.
- **Menu planning and development**: including therapeutic diets (Vegetarian, Vegan, Celiac, Low Potassium, Cardiac, Low Sugar) and modified textures (cut-up, minced, purée), as well as seasonal, local, leftover-based, snackable, and zero-waste options.
- **Everyday excellence** in homemade breads, cinnamon buns, muffins, cookies, squares, pies, scones, biscuits, sandwiches, soups, fries, and entrees — made with love and creativity.
- **Special moments**: birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, fundraisers, BBQs, picnics — even growing ingredients, trying new recipes, and sharing what you’ve learned.
