ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director, Publisher Relations, you will be a key member to the Membership team responsible for SOCAN's success which is based on its ability to respond effectively and flawlessly to the demands and expectations of its members, including publishers. To contribute to this strategic objective, we are looking for a SOCAN Publisher Lead who can offer system and policy insights aiding in the enhancement and the implementation of new policies, procedures and services that will meet the needs of the Publisher sector. This resource will collaborate with the Director, Publisher Relations, as well as with the account executives, operations, and other stakeholders across the organization. The role requires specialized experience and knowledge and while offering support to the Director, Publisher Relations, it will require cross-departmental and public-faced interactions. They will be expected to aid in the maintenance and betterment of SOCAN’s relationships with publishers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative and operational support to Director, Publisher Relations
- Gather and document use-cases related to system/policy or procedural concerns to support recommendations for Publisher related initiatives.
- Engage in departmental working groups related to Publisher concerns for improved functionality/resolution.
- Contribute to the implementation of Publisher related initiatives (i.e. Standardization documentation, policies, and procedural resources, GURU cards, Education as it relates to publishing, etc.)
- Tracking publisher related concerns, related projects, and their resolutions/progress
- Assist in escalation process to ensure Diamond level Publishers cases are resolved within SLAs.
- QA/Audit newly established Publisher accounts
- Work with Agreements team to ensure publisher agreements are set up rigorously implemented.
- Work closely with the Account Executive team, acting as a resource for Standardized Publisher Deliverables, complicated queries and agreement set ups.
- In person presence at some events

WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in the entertainment/music industry
- Work experience in administration of a music Publisher or PRO
- Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
- Bilingual in English and French, preferred
