FRENCH SECOND LANGUAGE TEACHER
Part-time (.375 FTE) position
Sentinel Secondary School
Effective immediately until the return of the absent teacher
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A temporary part-time French Second Language (FSL) teaching position consisting of FSL grade 8-12 is available at Sentinel Secondary School effective September 2024. The successful applicant for this position must have:
Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching French
A valid BC professional teaching certificate
Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum
Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Integrated Resource Packages, (IRPs) as well as providing evidence of the use of criterion referenced assessment and Performance Standards
Knowledge of the TPRS teaching approach an asset
Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents
An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners
Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based approach to planning and teaching
A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills
A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting
