**The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is a not-for-profit, government-funded facility that honours Jewish values and traditions while welcoming seniors of all backgrounds.**

**This role is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and skilled marketing professional to contribute to the meaningful work of The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre and make a lasting impact on the lives of Residents, families, and the community.**

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably within the non-profit or healthcare sectors.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Knowledge in using DonorPerfect or similar donor management systems.
- Experience with social media management and content creation.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Writing and Content Creation**:

- Draft and edit content for various communication channels, including newsletters, news releases, donor letters, and social media posts.
- Assist in the creation of the annual report, ensuring that it effectively communicates the Centre’s achievements and financials.
- Develop content for the Simkin Star publication, highlighting stories and events that resonate with Residents, families, donors and other stakeholders.
- **Event Planning and Coordination**:

- Coordinate the annual Simkin Stroll event, including committee management, logistics planning, and participant engagement.
- Support the planning and execution of major events such as the annual Shabbat dinner and the upcoming 25th anniversary celebration.
- Assist in the organization of meetings and events with high-value donors and community stakeholders.
- **Strategic Planning Support**:

- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Centre’s 5-year strategic marketing, communications, and donor relations plan.
- Participate in research and analysis to support strategic decisions and campaign development.
- **Donor Relations and Database Management**:

- Utilize DonorPerfect for inputting donor data, managing fundraising campaigns, producing tribute cards, and generating reports.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained to support donor engagement and fundraising efforts.
- **Social Media and Website Management**:

- Manage social media accounts, creating, scheduling and posting to engage the community and raise awareness of Centre activities; analyze content/views/traffic & make recommendations
- Assist in updating and maintaining the Centre’s website, ensuring information is current and relevant; oversee Google analytics.
- **Research and Media Relations**:

- Maintain and update the Centre’s media contact list, ensuring effective outreach and communication with local and regional media outlets.
- **Other Related Activities**:

- Collaborate with various departments to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of volunteer committees, including the fundraising and Simkin Stroll committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Marketing, Communications & Donor Relations.
