**Overview**:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Oilsands/Conventional Business Unit is currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician. The Instrument Technician will report to the Operations Supervisor and be located in the Sherwood Park Terminals District.
Pembina's Conventional/Oilsands Business Units include a strategically positioned network of pipelines and related infrastructure, encompassing various hubs and terminals. This network facilitates the transportation of crude oil, condensate, and natural gas liquids across significant areas of Alberta, as well as parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and North Dakota. Pembina ranks among Canada's largest operators of oil sands and heavy oil pipelines, and its Oil Sands business unit manages one of the most extensive merchant terminal operations in western Canada. These integrated assets enable us to offer long-term, dedicated transportation services to our customers.
**Responsibilities may include but not limited to**:
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections using diagnostic tools and test equipment and make necessary corrections to maintain a safe and reliable controls system;
- Monitor controls and instrument equipment to ensure effective and efficient service;
- Conduct tests related to functional performance;
- Use schematics and drawings to support safe, environmentally friendly, reliable, and optimum facility operations;
- Disassemble, reassemble, calibrate, repair, and troubleshoot process control instrumentation, valves, etc;
- Troubleshoot instrumentation failures;
- Interact with a broad range of personnel including engineers, technicians, vendors, contractors and leadership;
- Potentially have an understanding of PLC programming Allen Bradley and Modicon; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
**Qualifications**:
- High School diploma and Valid driver’s license;
- Relevant training and experience in a related industry as an Instrument Tech. or an associate’s degree in the I&E field;
- Knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA safety standards is a must;
- Extensive knowledge with Industrial Instrumentation and Controls in a oil storage facility environment;
- Working knowledge with measuring process levels, pressures, flows and temperatures;
- Familiarization of PLC and Distributed Controls Systems (DCS);
- Ability to comprehend P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop sheets and equipment manuals;
- MS Office Experience using Word, and Excel;
- Effective prioritization; time management and troubleshooting skills;
- Preventative and safety minded attitude;
- Team player who contributes to a positive work environment;
- Effectively analyzes and resolves issues with unfamiliar equipment or processes by drawing on past experiences, continuous learning, and critical thinking skills; and
- A high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
**This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.**
