About the Role:
This selection process is restricted to internal House of Commons Administration‘s employees only.The House of Commons Human Resources Services is currently looking to staff the Senior Advisor, Classification and Organizational Design position.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive advisory services to senior management on organizational design, role design and job evaluation and classification, for both unionized and unrepresented positions and as part of an integrated human resources team. The Senior Advisor provides specialized consultation services and advice to managers, senior leaders and colleagues within Human Resources Services and conducts analysis and external benchmarking reviews to ensure the House Administration employs an efficient and effective workforce in a fair and competitive manner.
Within your designated portfolio and collectively as a team, you will participate in the development and implementation of new or revised classification and evaluation services, strategies, procedures, practices, processes, initiatives, and tools to maintain and support the integrity of the classification program. These responsibilities include the cyclical review process for the periodic update and re-evaluation of job descriptions to ensure that the classification system is efficiently managed and effectively applied, and a monitoring program to ensure quality control, reliability, and sustainability of the classification program.

**Prerequisites**
**Education**
- University degree from a recognized institution in business administration, Human Resources or a related field OR acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
**Experience**
- Experience in providing specialized policy or operational advice, recommendations, and guidance to senior executives, either verbally or in writing
- Experience conducting organization design or development, and knowledge of classification theory, practices and principles
- Experience participating, leading and advising on job evaluation
- Experience participating in the development and organization of work methods and systems to ensure continuity, integrity, and uniformity of end-to-end human resources processes, as well as to develop and implement new procedures and techniques for service delivery

- Experience developing/reviewing classification policies, tools, job evaluation standards, processes, and procedures
- Experience using the Hay Plan or other job evaluation and classification plans
- Experience with a focus on total compensation programs, processes, and best practices
