**What you will be doing**:

- Basic food prep in a large commercial kitchen - peeling, cutting, chopping, slicing, mixing
- Portioning, assembling, and labeling finished goods for sale including salads, dips, pastry, sandwiches
- Labeling and storing goods raw goods, mis en place, sauces, etc. correctly, ensuring proper date rotation
- Weighing, measuring, blending and portioning ingredients for production
- Assistance with ingredient, finished goods, packaging and label inventories
- Assisting the kitchen leads with periodic stock takes and managing inventory levels
- Follow all proper food handling and Health & Safety standards and requirements
- Contribute to overall cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of kitchen, walk-in fridges, and work surfaces
- Handling machinery including but not limited to blenders, knives, food processors and other commercial kitchen equipment
- Assisting with other production areas as needed
- Other duties as required by management

**What you will bring to the table**:

- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Team player attitude with great interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently but does not hesitate to ask for assistance/input when needed
- Physically able to climb ladders, carry up to 50 pounds and perform all physical aspects of the job
- Works well in a team setting (agreeable, courteous and positive).
- Punctual and reliable attendance (always shows up on time)
- Pay close attention to detail and are able to work neatly, focus on quality and food safety
- Commercial kitchen experience
- Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset
- Interest/knowledge in organics/farming/local food an asset
- You LOVE food and have a PASSION for anything delicious

**Certification/Licensing Requirements**:

- Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset

**Physical Requirements**:

- Working in rooms with cold and hot temperatures
- Able to stand through your entire shift
- Lifting up to 40+ lbs
- Hairnets, steel toe CSA approved shoes are required to wear during your shift
