Summer Camp Program Coordinator

We are seeking a Program Coordinator for our Summer 2025 camps.

Owned and operated by Community Living Toronto, Shadow Lake is a bustling summer home-away-from-home for over 500 guests with special needs and over 80 staff members.
The Program Coordinator is part of the Senior Staff team. They are designated as the direct supervisor for program staff and provide guidance and assistance in all areas of programming and accommodation at camp. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Camp Coordinator and Program Supervisor.
Program Coordinator will:
- Have oversight of the AC staff/program team and lifeguards
- Provide ongoing evaluation, support and feedback to program staff
- Evaluate the quality of service that guests receive
- Prior to camp starting, create weekly program plans that are consistent with themed weeks
- Encourage staff and guest involvement in program activities
- Create a daily activity schedule with program staff
- Create shopping lists, and budget program needs to present to Camp Coordinator and Program Supervisor
- Implement changes in services where and when necessary
- Analyze guest needs and adapt programs as needed
- Communicate with other Camp departments to achieve a high level of support for guests
- Organize and pre-plan all recreational programs at camp with their team
- Ensure proper documentation of incidents is completed and follow up action is taken if needed
- Adhere to and enforce all Policies and Procedures of Shadow Lake/Community Living Toronto including any present or changing policies relating to COVID19
- Facilitate staff meetings for all staff
- Assist with the development and implementation of training week and continued trainings should they be required throughout the summer.
- Responsible for the implementation of recreational programming at camp
- Facilitate and attend meetings with their team and with senior staff team
Qualifications:
- 2+ years supervisory experience
- 1+ years working at related employment working with individuals with special needs
- Minimum 2 years of postsecondary education, or completion of a post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in a developmental service, recreational or health-care related field.
- First Aid/CPR certified
- Training in CPI or other de-escalation techniques, an asset
Prior to the first day of camp, all staff participate in a week-long training program, and on-line orientation. Everyone is required to obtain a police check prior to starting work.

Pay: $19.50-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 49.5 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
