- FNUniv is currently seeking an experienced Comptroller to provide leadership to the University on its internal financial control systems. This role represents a great opportunity within a dynamic, challenging and professional environment.
- Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Ensuring the University’s financial activities and processes are administered in compliance with the Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNFPO), Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE), external audit requirements, and other regulatory requirements and compliance filing.
- Ensuring the University’s financial activities and processes comply with the Excise Tax Act guidelines for public institutions.
- Review and validate activities of the Payroll Department and provides ongoing support.
- Performs regular reconciliations of asset and liability accounts.
- Work closely with the Director of Finance, Academics and Administration to provide ongoing support in the management of individual budgets and the overall delivery of the institutions financial plan.
- Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Provide advice and recommendations to staff, management and external stakeholders on financial and regulatory compliance matters, and accountabilities with a solutions-oriented approach.
- System Administrator for the Finance Departments ERP and CPM systems
- Review and approve accounts receivable entries and provide ongoing support to AR staff.
- Review and approve employee reimbursements and provide ongoing support to employees and leaders across the organization.
- Review and approve work prepared by senior accounting staff and provide ongoing support.
- Preparation, analysis and communications related to monthly variance reports and provide ongoing support to leaders across the organization.
