**What You’ll Be Doing**:The**Director of Facilities and Renovatio**ns** is responsible for overseeing facility operations, capital planning, and renovation projects across a national portfolio of senior living communities. Reporting to the Vice President of Facilities and Asset Management, this role leads the development of preventative maintenance programs, ensures regulatory compliance, supports emergency response, and drives strategic renovations that enhance resident safety, comfort, and operational performance. The Director collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align facility initiatives with long-term asset planning and organizational goals.**:

**Facilities Operations & Maintenance**:

- **Develop specifications and lead competitive procurement processes for preventative maintenance contracts that meet operational and regulatory requirements across Long Term Care and Retirement communities.**:

- **Create, maintain, and standardize facility maintenance and renovation policies and procedures across the organization.**:
**Asset & Capital Planning**:

- **Contribute to the development and maintenance of the 10-year capital plan in partnership with field Building Services Managers.**:

- **Assess building conditions and performance to prioritize renewal projects and support annual capital planning efforts informed by reserve fund studies.**:
**Strategic Renovation Program Execution**:

- **Lead planning and delivery of the organization’s strategic renovation program, including budget development and scope to achieve business goals/metrics and minimize disruption to resident care and operations.**:

- **Engage and manage designers, engineers, and contractors to deliver renovations on time, within budget, and to specified standards.**:
**Project Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration**:

- **Manage a diverse portfolio of capital and operational projects from scope development through execution and closeout.**:

- **Liaise with internal stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Real Estate, and Environmental Services, ensuring cross-functional alignment and support.**:
**Compliance & Quality Assurance**:

- **Ensure facilities operations, capital projects, and renovations comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and internal standards.**:

- **Assist communities with resolving compliance deficiencies and support development of corrective action plans.**:
**Education & Experience Required**:

- **Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience in facilities management, renovations, or property operations, preferably within long-term care, retirement, or healthcare settings.**:

- **Post-secondary education in facilities management, engineering, construction, project management, or related discipline; professional designations or certifications (e.g., Building Systems Management) considered an asset.**:

- **Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), building codes, fire/life safety standards, and computerized Building Automation Systems.**:

- **Proven experience managing multi-site renovation and construction projects, from scoping and budgeting to contractor oversight and delivery.**:

- **Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Finance) and external stakeholders (consultants, vendors, regulators).**:

- **Skilled in utility consumption tracking and sustainability best practices, with experience identifying energy and water reduction opportunities and securing related rebates or incentives.**:

- **Working knowledge of construction contracts, materials, methods, and procurement practices.**:

- **Highly organized with effective project management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.**:

- **Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software; familiarity with Bluebeam or AutoCAD is an asset.**:
