Toronto, Canada Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists Full time

**We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our 7-person staff team in our Toronto, Ontario office.**

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Bookkeeper is responsible for all accounting and financial administration, prepares reports, and supports effective oversight and financial planning. Administers the financial aspects of human resources management including payroll, benefits, and filings.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
**Financial Administration**
- Coordinates the annual budget development process.
- Controls operations budgets in collaboration with ED and Program Managers.
- Manages day-to-day financial operations and bookkeeping - accounts receivable (including deposits) and payables; reconciliation including PayPal, batches, bank transactions, and credit cards.
- Reconciles financial activity and prepares financial reports for ED and Treasurer.
- Oversees monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organization's financial performance against budget, financial, and operational goals.
- Ensures that financial requests or problems are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties.
- Under the direction of the ED, develops long-range forecasts and maintains long-range financial plans.
- Prepares for annual audit and is primary contact for external auditor.
- Fulfills financial reporting and tax related requirements.
- Attends and supports Finance Committee meetings as an external resource and assists Board in monitoring financial status and cash flow.
- Maintains archival financial and administrative files.
- Administers payroll and employee benefits program.
- Oversees OSOT’s office insurance policies to assure ongoing protection, ensures Director and Officer Liability Protection is renewed annually.
- Collaborates to reconcile OSOT non-dues revenue generating strategies and programs including member benefits and professional development.
- Maintains all corporate records and ensures compliance with all corporate reporting requirements.
- Attends meetings which contain agenda items relevant to OSOT’s finances (including Board meeting, financial planning meetings, etc. as appropriate).
- Completes other tasks as assigned.

**Skills and Experience**
- Post Secondary education in accounting/bookkeeping or combination of experience and education.
- Experience working in a non-profit setting preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with a high level of responsibility and accountability.
- Strong financial skills.
- Well established skills and comfort with Quick Books.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

**Work Schedule**:

- This position is a hybrid role.
- Hours of operation are flexible during regular business hours 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
