As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced **Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager** to lead our QA programs, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Quality Systems Management**
- Develop, implement, and maintain MNG’s food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, FSMA, GFSI-aligned SOPs)
- Ensure compliance with CFIA, FDA, and international food safety standards
- Prepare and maintain audit documentation, internal review reports, and vendor QA packages
**Product & Supplier Compliance**
- Review and approve COAs, specs, allergen declarations, and product traceability documentation
- Conduct supplier qualification reviews and monitor ingredient compliance
- Manage non-conformance reporting and resolution with vendors and warehouses
**Client QA Coordination**
- Respond to customer quality inquiries, documentation requests, and specification needs
- Coordinate and track product samples, feedback, and approvals from major clients
- Collaborate with the sales team to support customer onboarding from a QA perspective
**Warehouse Oversight & Inventory QA**
- Ensure quality checks are completed during receiving, storage, and shipping
- Oversee labeling, lot tracking, and shelf-life monitoring at the Whitby facility
- Work closely with warehouse staff to enforce QA standards
**Continuous Improvement & Training**
- Lead CAPA investigations and root cause analyses
- Conduct internal QA training sessions and audits
- Recommend process improvements and updates to quality SOPs and programs
**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing or ingredient QA/QC role
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSMA, CFIA/FDA regulations
- Familiarity with COAs, spec sheets, labeling, and customer documentation
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Experience with importing, warehousing, or spice/ingredient sector is a strong asset
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Workspace, and document control systems
