We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Manager for Christ the King Parish located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of projects, daily management and administration of buildings, and budget management of facilities related projects. The Facilities Manager works closely with the Parish’s Senior Leadership Team and provides support and leadership to a team of volunteers, tradespeople, contractors, and others to carry out this role.

Reporting to the Pastor or his designate, the Facilities Manager is responsible for organizing the operational needs of the parish which includes the inspection, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results ensuring that the parish facilities are up-to-date and in compliance with all local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations. This position requires a broad set of competencies, sensitivities, and a depth of knowledge and understanding of the administration of our Parishes and the Catholic Faith.
- Successful completion of secondary school plus post-secondary education in office/business administration or civil engineering technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and related experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership capacity either in operations, administration or facilities management
- Experience researching and negotiating contracts and rental agreements
- Thrives in an environment of change and competing priorities
- Works well within a team and has the ability to engage and lead
- Proficiency with MS Office, in particular Word and Excel
- Participation in a Christian faith community

This is a full-time, two-year contract position of 35 hours per week, which include some evenings and weekends.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for two building sites located in the Dartmouth area. There would be a requirement to visit both sites in the carrying out of work responsibilities therefore access to reliable transportation is a requirement.

Proficiency in the French language would be considered an asset
