Inspire - Community Support Services is a non-profit, multi-service community-based agency.

The agency is currently looking to fill a full-time Psychometrist position. Under the supervision of the consulting psychologist, conducts client intakes, administers and interprets psychometric measures, and assists in identifying the developmental, cognitive and daily functional status of clients living with developmental disabilities.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Completes semi-structured intake interviews, schedules and administers standardized assessments designed to evaluate cognitive, daily functional skills, emotional, behavioural and personality functions of referred clients
- Scores tests, notes observations regarding client’s behaviour, summarizes results and presents formal written report to Psychologist.
- Offers information on available resources.
- Maintains adequate supplies of test forms and materials and arranges for ordering of these as required.
- Assesses risk and ensures safety and well-being of clients using crisis management tools.
- Participates in clinical meetings, evaluation meetings, consults with school personnel, meets individually with director and attends supervision meetings with psychologist.
- Create and maintain accurate consultation notes, reports and other required materials.

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of development disabilities and complex special needs
- Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the organization’s services and community partners
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, and technology devices

**Education**
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or equivalent

**Experience**
- Greater than three years of previous work experience in clinical services for clients.

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**
- Interacts with clients, families, and support network.
- Responds to conflict and complaints, uses calming and de-escalation techniques, and mediates conflict
- Requires non-verbal communication skills, including heightened empathy and sensitivity to clients
- Requires active listening skills
- Communicate findings clearly and accurately to the supervising psychologist.

**Complexity and Problem Solving**
- Works with autonomy in self-directed role in consultation with the consulting psychologist.
- Coordinate and prioritizes competing demands.
- Integrate quantitative test data with qualitative observations.
- Exercise judgement in adapting assessment approaches to accommodate clients with varying levels of ability.
- Identify and report barriers that may affect the interpretation of results.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $34.40 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
