We are looking to hire an AON (Awake Overnight) Group Home Worker who has the ability to stay up all night. - **We are looking to fill AON shifts for Friday - Sunday, 10:00 pm - 8:00 am.**_ Our Group Home Workers are kind, caring, compassionate individuals who are invested in supporting adults with disabilities. They offer companionship and respect to clients, striving for the high standard of living and care that our clients deserve. **Shift responsibilities include, but are not limited to**: - Supporting adults with developmental disabilities with nightly activities. - Providing and/or assisting Core Members with personal care. - Housekeeping duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping, etc.) - Making and preparing meals/snacks. - Ensuring that the physical, emotional, spiritual, vocational, recreational and health/safety needs of our Core Members are met. **Individuals who possess the following qualities are the best fit our organization**: - A team player with active listening skills and creative problem solving; you take a fun, creative approach to your work. - A positive, outgoing, "can-do" attitude. - Adaptable, responsive, and trustworthy. - You're a night owl - you have the ability to stay up and stay alert all night. - Interested in the lives and interests of our clients (Core Members) and take a “person-first” approach. You believe in the Core Members' capacity to learn and you respect the Core Members' input into their own lives. **Mandatory Requirements**: - Clear Criminal Record Check - Negative TB Test - B.C. Medical Insurance (MSP or equivalent) - Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C - Class 7 (N) BC Drivers License or better **Qualifications**: A Group Home Worker must have the following knowledge and qualifications: - Experience in working with people with disabilities, particularly those with developmental disabilities. Preferred certifications include Community Support Worker or Health Care Assistant. - Physically fit to perform role description duties required for the job. **Willingness to obtain and maintain as required**: - Up-to-date immunizations (Covid-19, Flu, etc.) - Food Safe Training - Sign Language Training - WHMIS Training - Naloxone Training - Crisis Intervention Training - Positive Behaviour Support Training - CLBC Privacy Training **Must be able to physically do the following**: - Walk a minimum of 2.5hrs / 160 minutes. - Push/pull wheelchairs on both flat and inclined surfaces. - Climb stairs to a maximum of 3 stories. - Bend at waist, twist and turn. - Squat and kneel. - Reach and lift: Floor to waist, waist to shoulder and shoulder and above. - Carry and hold at least 1/3 of your body weight. - We thank you for your interest in this role at Shekinah Homes Society, however, only individuals selected for an interview will be contacted._ **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $23.53 per hour Expected hours: 30 per week **Benefits**: - Company pension - Dental care - Extended health care - Flexible schedule - Life insurance - On-site parking **Experience**: - Care home: 1 year (required) **Location**: - Victoria, BC V9A 1X5 (required) Work Location: In person
