**Human Resources Manager**

**Summary**:
The Manager of Human Resources is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Human Resources operations of the organization as well as overall organizational learning.

Type of Position Regular

Classification Level Four

Rate of Pay $25-28/hour range depending on experience.
Eligible for comprehensive benefits package

Hours of Work 27.5 hours per week flexible shifts with in-office and remote capabilities

Location John Tod Centre (150 Wood Street, Kamloops, BC)

**Main Areas of Responsibilities**
- Participate as a member of the Leadership Team in developing long and short-term strategic planning impacting HR strategies and development of people.
- Support policy development, training, performance management and health and safety.
- Lead the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and development of the Club’s HR strategies, policies, procedures, and systems, including Job descriptions and performance evaluation.
- Ensure that all relevant policies, procedures, practices processes and systems meet and comply with legislation, regulations, rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Develop new HR initiatives to support the strategic direction of the Club.

**Recruitment, Selection and Staffing**
- Strategically plan for the staff and volunteer needs of the Club and develop and implement recruitment retention and staff and volunteer engagement strategies.
- Create recruitment and selection plans for new employees which adhere to the Club’s equal opportunity and diversity policies. Support selection of employees with supervisory staff.
- Post for vacant positions and schedule interviews in coordination with supervisory staff.
- Support onboarding and orientation in collaboration with supervisory staff.

**Administration Responsibilities**
- Ensure HR data is managed according to standards and privacy policies (i.e. HR employee files).
- Oversee the use of data collection. Ensure that information is collected, updated and reported as required.
- Compile statistical data and metrics concerning personnel-related data such as turnover, personnel issues, and develop recommendations for improvement.

**Performance Management**
- Ensure Performance planning and reviews are completed annually.
- Support supervisory staff in planning and conducting performance review as required.
- Assist senior leadership in performance management, investigations, and discipline.

**Compensation and Benefits**
- Manage the compensation program to ensure compliance with policies and process.
- Research, design and recommend ongoing compensation strategies and programs to support retention and recruitment.
- Participate in and research salary surveys to ensure the Club is competitive and make any necessary recommendations to the executive director relating to existing salary ranges based on the reflection of the market.

**Training and Development**
- Create an annual plan that addresses the training needs of employees that have been identified in performance plans.
- Seek out relevant training opportunities to enhance the Club and employees.

**Health and Safety**
- Participate in the Club’s Occupational Wellness, Health and Safety committee to support activities and events, initiatives and projects.
- Oversee the assessment of potential risks to staff and provide strategies and training to minimize these risks.
- Liaise with WCB and insurance providers on all claims, including managing appeals where appropriate.
- Manage return to work programs proactively, working closely with the employee, their supervisors and the insurance organization to ensure the employee’s safety and health and protecting the Club’s interests.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management,

Business Management, or related field and/or 3 to 5 years related experience.
- Strong knowledge of current employment legislation and best practices.
- String computer literacy including effective working with skills of Microsoft

Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
