Sun Life Retail Advice & Solutions is one of the leading financial institutions that offer Canadians holistic advice and solutions including insurance, wealth and health through a team of digitally-enabled and insights-driven human Advisors. We are on an exciting journey to transform the Advisor experience that increases ease of doing business, productivity and Client engagement. Reporting to the SVP Strategy & Enablement, the AVP Distribution Business Architecture and Platforms will be responsible for evolving distribution business platforms by leading persistent teams that deliver digital experiences, tools and capabilities to Advisors. This role will partner jointly with Digital Business Technology Services (DBTS), as well as working closely with Advisors, Client Experience Office (CXO) and other Sun Life business units / functions.

**What will you do?**
- Vision and strategy _
- Translate business strategy and establish distribution business platform vision and supporting strategy that will deliver target business outcomes and world-class Advisor experiences
- Drive thought leadership by bringing in best practices from other leading financial services companies and / or relevant out of market players as well as engaging with Advisors to understand their evolving needs to engage with Clients and grow their businesses
- Evolve target business architecture by determining capabilities to enable business strategy and Advisor journeys
- Ensure business platforms align to target Advisor journey and experiences continuously
- Represent the voice of Advisor and business stakeholders and be accountable for business platform objectives and key results (OKRs)
- Delivery and execution _
- Provide high level oversight of the Distribution Business Platform DE model, including coaching and supporting the Director, Business Platforms and multiple squads to deliver target business
- Continuously monitor and measure business platform OKRs and generate insights to ensure persistent teams are progressing towards OKRs
- Lead development and ongoing refresh of business platform multi-year roadmap and determine business and technology capabilities required to enable the target state journeys
- Ensure delivery backlogs of each supporting persistent platform teams align to overall business platform roadmap
- Ensure integration of capability development with business process design including optimizing processes as needed and maintenance of process documentation across platform teams
- Support persistent team in problem solving complex issues, proactively address key risks and serve as escalation point for key issues
- Partner closely with AVP Digital Advisor Journeys to understand journey needs and deliver cross-cutting capabilities to enable Advisor journeys
- Partner with Change Management team to ensure ongoing alignment in optimizing introduction of changes to Advisor that drives adoption and meets business objectives
- Ensure delivery addresses applicable legal, compliance regulatory and internal policy requirements
- Business process management _
- Lead business process COE by establishing best practices, process design standards and ensuring consistency across a community of business analysts in Sun Life
- Partner with Lean Solutions team to diagnose, identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities
- Own and maintain business process inventory and ensure it is evergreen as Advisor journeys and business capabilities evolve
- Stakeholder management _
- Proactively engage with senior stakeholders to understand business and Advisor needs and provide transparency of roadmap and execution progress
- Escalate and keep sponsors and stakeholders informed of key issues, risks and interdependencies
- Collaborate with key partners including Advisors, field management, Enterprise Services, CXO and other business units and functions (e.g. legal, compliance, risk)
- Build and manage relationships with key partners at all levels, including effectively engaging senior executives
- Team management _
- Provide leadership, motivation, guidance and coaching to business platform teams
- Effectively influence peers or persistent platform team members with no direct reporting relationships
- Lead and coach a direct reports through proactive career development and continuous feedback loop
