Finance & Accounting Intern (One Year Term)

The Finance & Accounting Intern (one year term) will perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to support balance sheet accounts, general accounting functions such as creating, adjusting journal entries and payments and responding to information requests, assist in the compilation and verification of government grant claims submissions, assist the external reporting group in the preparation of selected financial statement notes, provide advice and support to other finance areas regarding correct accounting treatment for specific transactions as required, handle special projects, as appropriate, in support of corporate initiatives, assist in development of presentations, extend support of Internal Controls, and all associated programs and activities.

**Basic Qualifications**:
Working towards or recent completion (within one year of graduating) of a Bachelor's/Master's Degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
Proven leadership experience through school related activities or other experiences
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work productively as a member of cross-functional teams
Legally authorized to work in Canada

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint as end user and/or administrator
Previous Accounting/Finance experience
