Responsible for the intake and set-up of life and disability claims on management systems, and follow-up contact with claimants, employers, health care providers, and other service providers. This position supports the Life and Disability Management team through day-to-day administrative functions and offers an excellent opportunity to take your career in an exciting and rewarding direction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responds to claim inquiries, compose and send correspondence, request and collect information from stakeholders, and accurately update confidential claimant information
- Calculates and enters life and disability benefit payments and expense invoices
- Coordinates overpayment recovery plans and maintains repayment records
- Produces Excel based reports, performs data verification, and maintains databases, and completes any necessary data corrections
- Manages ongoing total and permanent disability claims
- Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing internal and external customer needs
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize several activities on an ongoing basis, work in a fasted environment with changing priorities and capable of working under the pressure of deadlines
- Above average mathematical and reporting skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to remain flexible, work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to follow documented procedures, and work efficiently and accurately within prescribed performance standards
- Preference will be given to applicants who have completed some post-secondary education, an equivalent combination of education and 1 - 2 years’ experience in an office environment may be considered
- Knowledge of medical terminology and/or a background in medical administration, group insurance benefits or case management is considered an asset
- Knowledge of applicable Privacy Legislation and related guidelines is considered an asset.
