Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day human resources tasks while contributing to a cohesive and positive employee experience that aligns with the company’s culture and values. The HR manager will play a critical role in fostering a positive work environment, promoting company values, and driving HR excellence. The key responsibilities will include but aren't limited to:
- Oversee all aspects of human resources such as workplace culture, benefits and compensation, succession planning, employee relations, onboarding & terminations, organizational development, health & safety, CNESST management, compliance and employment laws in Quebec
- Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations needs
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Act as key contact during periods of change to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract top talent.
- Develop oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Work closely with senior managers in supporting M&A strategies.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications or related field
- Benefits administration and compensation management experience and/or payroll experience is preferred
- A minimum of three plus years of relevant experience with an emphasis on coordinating projects and employment relations in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Quebec legislation is a must.
- Strong knowledge of 1% Training Law (Quebec), health and safety procedures (CNESST), and Quebec francization program are a major asset.
- Bilingual, fluent in both English and French (written and verbal) is a must.
- Previous experience working in retail is a an asset.
- Self-motivated, able to set priorities effectively, multi-task, pivots easily as priorities change and follows through to meet demands requested by the business
- Proven experience in the successful implementation of HR initiatives and programs that have a direct impact on business performance.
- Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions.
- Previous experience overseeing the integration of HR systems and driving the successful integration of cultures, policies and practices following an acquisition while insuring a smooth transition or employees.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and confidentiality
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
