We have an exciting opportunity for a HR and Payroll Assistant to join our team A drive to learn and develop and a high degree of discretionary effort will be the foundation of success in this role.

About the position:

- System intake of all employee onboarding including new hires and rehires.
- Performing full cycle of company benefits. This is a forward-facing role to employees and a key contact person with third party carriers for day-to-day support.
- Reconcile enrollment data and invoices from payroll to third party systems.
- Monitoring general HR and Payroll inboxes and action employee requests, accordingly, including employment letters, change of contact info etc.
- Help employees navigate the employee self-service portal in the HR/Payroll system.
- Other program administration such as scholarships, service and recognition, employee assistance plan and our uniform program.

What you bring:

- You do not need to be a seasoned Human Resources or Payroll Professional to be considered for this role, 1 -2 years of junior level experience is desired
- Formal education or training would be beneficial
- Empathy and respect for people
- A positive attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in MS Office is considered an asset (Excel and Word)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
