**About Cambridge Manor**

Cambridge Manor is a state-of-the-art continuing care facility for seniors, located in the University District, owned and operated by The Brenda Strafford Foundation.

The 217,000 square-foot site is home to residents in Assisted Living and Long Term Care, including specialized Dementia Care. Cambridge Manor is connected by a +30 walkway to an Independent Living seniors condominium developed by Truman Homes. Together, Cambridge Manor and Maple create a thoughtfully-designed seniors’ care and living complex to support older adults to ‘age-in-place’ and stay in the community as their care and service needs change over time.

The proximity of Cambridge Manor to the neighboring University of Calgary will enhance academic connections within the community. Cambridge Manor aims to drive advancements in the seniors’ care industry through integrated research, innovation, teaching and learning opportunities in a continuing care environment in collaboration with the university and other partners.

**Job overview**:
Cambridge Manor is looking for the next great addition to our team The Health Care Aide is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for providing direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the resident and indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area.

**Some of the primary responsibilities include**:
Demonstrating awareness and understanding of the resident needs;
Observing and reporting unusual signs/symptoms and incidences to the profession al nursing staff

Providing timely information to the supervising professional regarding observed changes in physical, mental or emotional status/behaviour of the residents

Participate in the care Plan for the resident

Recognize challenges related to vision, hearing, speech and language and adapt practice to minimize these challenges

Documenting all care provided and behaviours noted on the appropriate forms and in the Point of Care (POC) system

Promoting a healthy and safe practice environment - recognizing safety issues and reporting them immediately

Required education and experience:

- Graduate of a Government of Alberta approved Health Care Aide program
- Registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
- CPR Heart Saver Certificate;
- Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long term care nursing desirable;
