Enviros’ Principle Based Practice is a model that utilizes principles to guide and drive action in practice, a decision-making tool in our interventions addressing critical areas of need, and the foundational structure of support for the crucial work we do, incorporating strengths and culture into our day-to-day interactions. **The Program - Stride**

Enviros is excited to be developing this newest model of care in the Child Intervention System. **STRIDE is a Therapeutic Foster Caregiving** model that is family based, culturally safe, short term, out of home placement program intended to support youth with complex needs. This model is a wraparound service that incorporates a highly skilled and trained the **Contracted Agency Caregiver**, as the primary change agent, working within a Therapeutic Team, including cultural supports to provide individualized trauma informed supports.

**Position Overview**

Our Specialized Foster Caregivers provide youth with a safe, caring family home that can support their healthy development and meaningful connections until they are transitioned to their forever home. These Caregivers will provide the daily experiences that help youth grow into healthy adulthood. Our Specialized Foster Caregivers can have an incredible impact on the lives of complex youth who are in the Children Services system. We provide industry leading training to our Specialized Foster Caregivers to ensure they are able to provide the support and guidance needed to see these youth successfully transition out of care.

When you become a caregiver with Enviros and the Stride program you are provided extensive support and resources. Our Caregiver Support Model is extensive and is designed with you in mind. This includes:

**Education & Experience**
- Experience in human services with vulnerable populations
- Knowledge of strength-based practice and trauma informed care
- Experience working with high risk youth

**Other Qualifications**
- Have a spare bedroom in your home
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted)
- A clean driver’s abstract containing not more than two (2) minor offences or one (1) major offence
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”
- Police Record Check with Vulnerable sector check (within six (6) months)
- Child Intervention Check (within one (1) year)
